A LITTLE OF FRANCE HISTORY

A confidential address and a very special hotel, Le Pavillon de la Reine, where the gallery is located, invites you to immerse yourself in the history of France. During the 16th century, the French court, residing outside Paris year round, took up residence at Place des Vosges when it moved, the Nobility settled there. This pavilion dedicated to the Queens of France is diametrically opposed to that of the Kings of France.
Place des Vosges, formerly called Place Royale, inaugurated on the occasion of the marriage of Louis XIII and Anne of Austria, will be renamed by Napoleon in thanks to the Vosges department, the first department in France to have paid its taxes.
A real step back in time, this historic square allows you to discover the palaces of the aristocracy and daily life in the Paris of the Kings of France
