PHILIPPE PASQUA
Philippe Pasqua, born in Grasse in 1965, is a self-taught painter known for his unconventional approach. Inspired by Francis Bacon and Lucian Freud, he has become one of the major artists of his generation, impressing audiences with works that both challenge and fascinate. His first exhibition took place in 1990 at Espace Confluence in Paris. He exhibits his works worldwide, notably in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Moscow, and Taiwan, and maintains a permanent exhibition at The Storage, a space in Saint-Ouen l'Aumône.
Pasqua explores themes related to flesh and vanitas, particularly in his sculptures where he reveals a fascination with bones. In 2012, he created a 7-meter chrome-aluminum Tyrannosaurus, reinforcing his attraction to monumental pieces. His exhibition at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, focused on ocean preservation, demonstrates his ability to merge art with environmental commitment. Always seeking innovation, he continues to surprise and intrigue with works that are both powerful and moving.
